Breaking News! What Happened a Month Ago!

Stop the presses! Here's another Voters exclusive!

If you click on this link, you'll get to the post over on Citizens (our document repository) where you'll find the minutes for the February 6 School Board meeting.

To be fair, some bit of this was covered in a short Bangor Daily News article.

But here's what wasn't covered there, and in fact only now sees the light of day!

  • Four Board members missing! Watch closely tomorrow night to see if they're once again absent!
  • Committee meetings vanish! The meetings of four committees -- Negotiations, Facilities, Policy, and Budget -- were to be reported on, but...there's no record of these reports, if indeed they were ever made! All left out in spite of the fact that there are more than two whole pages of reports of administrators. So really, are these Board meetings, or just Administrators' report meetings? It seems that it would be proper for the minutes of a Board meeting to include at least some sense of what the Board committees report; that is unless you believe that the public is more interested in field trips and spaghetti suppers!
  • The Reorganization Planning Committee met in January -- their intriguing January 28 minutes are here --but did the Board even get a report on their discussions?
  • Unknown -- to the public -- litigation seems to have occupied the Board for 26 minutes. We hope and pray that they know what they're doing! (Because they haven't told us!)
Defibrillator me baby! (Eight to the bar!)
