"Last Night, Talking About Last Night"

Tidbits from the Board Meeting last night:
  • Two members of the High School Student Council attended; they plan to have members attending every Board meeting. Smart move!
  • Educational Report on Elementary Summer School from Joanne Hibbard, Sally, Nuite, and Kim Grant. Reading, Math, birds, and fun!
  • The District's hired publicist for the new school effort is Tammy Lockhart.
  • Enrollments vary by school, relative to last year, but the District overall looks to be down about 15, compared to the April 1, 2006 count, with 23 less at the Middle School.
  • Besides those meetings listed on the agenda, there's another: the Ad-Hoc Advisory Committee on Disposition of MSAD #46 Educational Properties will meet Tuesday, September 26, Superintendent's Office, 7 pm.
There were two add-ons:
  • Richard Modery, Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at the Middle School is resigning; he's taken a similar position at Leonard Middle School in Old Town.
  • The Board voted to hire a new High School Mathematics Teacher, Gary Larson, at a salary of $50,987. He recently retired after 32 years at Foxcroft Academy.
Tomorrow, a new "Coffee Talk," hot from the oven!
