8/23 Agenda: We're Curious (Red)!

As a public service, we present Wednesday's School Board Agenda, which arrived here in the "Voters" mailbox on Saturday. (As always, click on the images , then click again to enlarge.) Watch for its imminent appearance at the District's Meetings & Minutes page.

Here are some questions that arise (identified by their section designation):
  • V. Committee Reports: Have these committees met since July 5 (the last Board meeting)?
  • C. Co-Curricular Appointments: There are a number of volunteers working with the Fall sports teams. When will they be approved? Perhaps these are Superintendent's Add-ons (A)?
  • K. & L. Executive Sessions (Personnel Issues) ??? The agenda cites 1 MRSA § 405(6)(A) as legal authority; you can read it here to get ideas about what they might discuss. Apparently no action on these items is anticipated following the executive sessions.
  • M. &N. Approval of Ad-Hoc Committees relating to pre-K and to the disposition of (soon-perhaps-to-be-no-longer-needed) District buildings: A praiseworthy move to involve citizens in District policy discussions. It will be interesting to see the charge of these committees and their make-up!
And an educational report on the MEA results -- maybe at the September meeting?
