How They're Doing It, ...

and maybe they're doing it right!

Take a look at the Orono (Union 87) website, and follow this link: U87 Regionalization Information.

It's some kind of a model for how information could be communicated to a community.

The Financial Template is noteworthy, both for its existence and for its content. Districts in our region have had trouble getting templates from the Department of Education. Note that their request was received at the DOE on August 6 and they were sent the filled-in template on August 9!

We call your attention especially to the reports of the community conversations in Orono and Veazie, with their sections of "Opportunities," "Concerns," and "Advice."

#1 under Orono's "Advice" heading:
1. Must communicate clearly & frequently with the public through websites, newsletters sent home through schools, newspapers & radio
Amen!

If only we had such a website for MSAD 46. We could, if the district leaders were willing to accept advice.

Maybe we will.....after consolidation accomplishes a change of administration!
