Let a Thousand Flowers Bloom!
An opinion piece in yesterday's Bangor Daily News sketches out ways to make a school system more inclusive and more responsive to the community.
A nearby district recently held "the first of dozens of meetings district officials plan to have with community leaders in the coming months to answer questions and gauge the public's sentiment for the plan." (link here)
It's unseasonable weather these days, for sure, but it looks like the climate's getting just right for a flowering of democracy here in the bright meadow! Just be careful about what you sow!

To: Bright meadow muffin/Mel,
Stop preaching about writing in anonymously when it's clear that you use a pen/assumed name at certain times to make a point, or to make it appear that others side with you. Why would anyone want to set themselves up for your public floggings? You are already critical enough, imagine if certain dissenters identified themselves. This blog is not necessarily a friendly place unless you agree with the world according to Mel and Art.
Thanks for your kind sentiments, but I'm not Bright Meadow, Muffin Top, or Anonymous.
I borrowed the phrase "bright meadow" and used it ironically because I think it evidences a kind of simple-minded -- and unwarranted -- sunniness.
Oh the injustice!
