Tidbits from the ATM Room

Last night's meeting was unexceptional, at first glance -- and at second glance.

We report here some tidbits that may be of interest:

  • A new Community Connection is in the works, with David C. Wollstadt once again writing up items of interest. Approximate ETA: late January. You may remember the debut of this publication last spring, right around budget time. Hmmm... wonder if maybe the CC will discuss the school project?
  • The Superintendent and the Board Chair meet again with Scott Brown and company at the Department of Education today. They're moving toward concept approval by that committee so the concept can be taken to the State Board; the hope is for the February State Board meeting (probably February14). Under discussion today are some areas in the proposed building that may not be allowed by the state. If things go well today they're looking at a late January Straw Vote.
  • Apparently there was a meeting between the Facilities/Construction/Transportation Committee and Ripley selectmen on December 11. Completely "under the radar."
  • The High School Principal gave an extensive educational report on the SAT results and some good discussion ensued.
