Guilford Gets It Right?

(This ad appeared in the August 25 Eastern Gazette, and in the August 22 Piscataquis Observer; click on the image to enlarge to readable size)

As a public service, we provide this information, in case you haven't already seen it.

It looks as though SAD 4's plans include...US! Both Letters of Intent filed with the State by SAD 4 include SAD 46 as a potential partner.

However, an article in this same issue of the Observer ("SAD 4 eyes two groups for partners") makes the point that SAD 4 has other options, not outlined in its Letters of Intent. One possibility would be to merge with SAD 68.

(When is a deadline not really a deadline? When are requirements...not? When it involves the administrative and bureaucratic apparatus of education! In the meantime, schoolchildren, remember: late or incomplete work is not acceptable!)

Our thanks to those nice folks in Guilford for telling us more -- much more -- than our own District!

Thanks too for including the public.

It's a controversial idea, even in a democratic republic, to involve the citizenry in making decisions about their future. Still, if they can do it in Iraq, why, we can jolly well do it here!
