Is There A Mapquest For Regionalization?

If you're looking for directions to get from where you're at, to where you're going, there are a variety of resources. First thing though, you need to know where you're going!

In area school districts, the need for meeting requirements of regionalization has prompted local discussions with members of the public to help decide the destination.

With the deadline looming, some districts, including SAD #46, have held back on these discussions, perhaps in the hope that something would change the requirements, or that a resolution could be voted "to investigate all other possibilities for collaboration."

Realistically, have ANY legitimate opportunities been explored? Just as importantly, by whom?

The logic, if there is any, to allowing the LOCALS (school boards and superintendents) to determine the partnerships for consolidation of administrative or other educational delivery services, fails when there are no visible efforts. Like it or not the law has been changed and needs to be effectively implemented for the betterment of students, and the relief of taxpayers.

If a roadmap is not created locally, you can bet that directions will be provided by those in Augusta, along with financial penalties for not following them.

Besides, how will you know when you get there, if you don't know where you're going?
