Thanks Bill!

A big Voters thanks goes out this morning to Superintendent William Braun of SAD 48 and as well to the Bangor Daily News.

In an article in today's BDN (link here when available) about a consolidation strategy session held last night in Newport -- open to the public -- Superintendent Braun indicated that SAD 46 (Dexter) is talking with SAD 48 (Newport) and with SAD 4 (Guilford).

While this is in itself hardly newsworthy (Wouldn't you be surprised if SAD 46 weren't talking to neighboring districts?) -- it's nevertheless notable because it's far more information than we've gotten from our own district.

SAD 48 holds another public discussion next week, and then decides at an August 21 Board meeting what course of action to pursue. Democracy is a wonderful thing, isn't it?

Again, a tip of the Voters hat to Bill Braun!
