Consolidate Me Baby (Eight to the Bar)!*
We learned a tiny little bit about consolidation the other night at the School Board meeting.
The meeting with the folks from Corinth on the 28th "went well." The conversation will continue.
(In reference to this earlier Voters post and the corresponding poll: we're taking the poll down now, since the possible answers of when we would be informed about this meeting are mostly irrelevant. 2 days, 5 days, and 10 days haven't happened. Now all that's left is forty days and forty nights!)
Meetings will be coming up with other possible partners, soon.
There will be a public informational meeting on Monday, September 24, in the DRHS cafeteria. We've added it to the Voters Events Calendar. Remember, in your will, when you are considering bequests, that Voters told you first!
*This is intended as a reference to "Beat Me Baby, Eight to the Bar", which phrase, to our ears, sounds not so much like cheerful love, but abuse, or at least something kinky. I assure you that the Andrews Sisters were more innocent than we moderns! Banish those nasty images!
"Eight to the bar" refers to a particular boogie-woogie piano style used as song accompaniment (see article here). We like that jumpy dancing boogie pace a a lot better than the sort of lugubrious dribble of, say, consolidation information!

The song they sang:
A-plink plink, a-plank plank, a-plink plank, plink plank
A-plunkin' on the keys
A-riff riff, a-raff raff, a-riff raff, riff raff
A-riffin' out with ease
But when he plays with the bass and guitar
They holler out, "Beat me Daddy, eight to the bar"
