"...train is picking up speed..."

Choices are being made in your name. You are being kept in the dark. What's representative about this?
The SAD #46 reorganization planning train is picking up speed and moving very quickly towards a recommendation. There's a lot going on right now. Here's a synopsis:

The SAD #46 Reorganization Planning Committee (RPC) met Monday, the 29th w/ SAD #4, Harmony, and Willimantic for our first meeting with this group. We listened to an overview comparison of the districts, their facilities, administrative structures, census figures and valuations, transportation systems, etc. and had open and productive discussions.

We also met Tuesday night (the 30th) with SAD #64 (East Corinth etc.), our third meeting with this group. This was primarily a work session where we attempted to flesh out how any merger of these two districts might play out. Tentative decisions were reached regarding potential governance if this merger comes to fruition. This also seemed to be an open and productive session.

While Kevin will be attending the RSU #18 (SAD's 4. 41, 46, 68, Harmony, Union 60, Bowerbank etc. group) on Thursday night, we probably will not have a full contingent there as there is a consensus that RSU #18 is just too big. [A consensus of whom? Has anyone from this committee asked YOU what you think?]

We meet next Monday night, the 5th @ 6:30 at DRHS cafetorium with the SAD #4, Harmony and Willimantic group to flesh out some details of that proposed partnership.

Following the meeting on the 5th, the SAD #46 RPC will caucus and hopefully will reach consensus on a partner to recommend to the SAD #46 school board on Wednesday night, the 7th.

At the meeting on the 7th, the school board, after listening to our recommendation, is expected to vote on which group they feel SAD #46 should join - (SAD #64) or (SAD #4, Harmony and Wellington) or (RSU #18 - multi-district)
Which "option" do you think will be recommended? After a course is recommended and the Board votes, that's pretty much it folks! Whose interests are really being considered by these committees?

We've referred before to the ancient song "Old Riley." "In the night the price was paid." It isn't pretty, it isn't clean, and it isn't right.
