New Poll: Increase Local Share?
A new poll begins this morning, this one to register your comfort level with an increase -- or no increase -- in local funding.
Minimally, it's likely that a new school will result in an increase in the local share of funding of approximately $100,000 per year, or roughly 1%. The increase could be greater depending on what voters want included in the school, and on what costs the State will not fund.
Correction: $100,000 is about 1% of the entire school budget. $100,ooo added to this year's total local assessment of $2,197,248 would be an addition of about 4.5% to the local share, not 1% as I stated above!
