Who Speaks for MSAD 46?

A recent post entitled "Aiming for Successful Consolidation" brought out a considerable number of comments. Some of the comments -- by one "Anonymous" -- bordered on the insane. There were a couple of comments, however, that deserve to be reviewed.

Kelley M. Carter, Business Manager for MSAD 48, said "I can't speak for SAD 46 but I can speak for SAD 48 since I'm directly involved in communications efforts in this district."

In thoughtful remarks he describes the problems with attempting to involve the public, and the current efforts his district is employing, including "bringing our blog back to life." His conclusion is that "Getting the public involved is going to take unusual measures. The old way of reaching out only reaches a small fraction of your public and misses the vast majority."

Mike McCormick commented, beginning with "As Kelley said, we are having a hard time getting feed back from the citizens," and ending with "Keep the conversation going, all sides must be heard in both MSAD 48 endeavors, as well as [the] MSAD 46 project."

Both comments reflect the efforts of MSAD 48 to involve its citizens in discussion of what they desire and will support with respect to the future of their district facilities. Both Kelley M. Carter and Mike McCormick are speaking for MSAD 48, as well as themselves.
