Ground Breaking Plot!

Ground Breaking Ceremony December 4, 2007 at 2:00pm at the new K-8 School location on the Fern Road!!

Please join us on Tuesday, Dec 4 at 2:00 pm on the Fern Road (accessible via Upper Main Street or Route 94 in Dexter) for the Ground Breaking Ceremony for our new K-8 Building project.

Remember this excerpt?
The reason for the February referendum is simple: we live in Maine! If the project is approved, we gain three valuable months of construction time that would be lost by waiting until June. That's it! The ground will freeze in the fall and the work can't get done. No plot. No ulterior motives. Simple Maine Weather."

Sincerely,

Carol Sherburne
Dexter
Such was the closest thing to an official response from anyone in the district regarding the push for the March 2007 vote scheme. The letter appeared in the December 30, 2006 Eastern Gazette and was reproduced here.

One of the comments received reflected the same understanding:

Are you people really that dense? The reason for having the vote early, as the letter said, is to start construction in June not the fall. Sorry if this didn't come through in Carol's letter.

Carol and Mr. Anonymous must have been misinformed

After all , as Carol said, " The ground will freeze in the fall and the work can't get done. No plot. No ulterior motives. Simple Maine Weather."

Let the digging begin.
