Orchestration Begins in Earnest

Earnest? Where is Earnest? Is that downeast?

Orchestration? Is it a piano piece that's being scored for a larger group?

Not exactly.

We call your attention to a page one advertisement in last Saturday's Eastern Gazette, in which it is announced that the Plummer Foundation is giving $100,000 for a wellness center in the proposed new school. The same copy appears here at the newschoolproject.info site.
Another organization has made a significant pledge to the SAD #46 new school project, bringing the total in private donations to almost $400,000
Representatives of the Plummer Memorial Foundation, an organization formed after the Dexter hospital closed in the 1980's, have announced their intention to donate $100,000 to fund a Wellness Center at the new PreK-8 school.
The issue in "announcing" this very worthwhile gift now is that, actually, this was news a while ago.

This Plummer pledge was announced before the Alfond gift, not after it, as represented in these "announcements." In fact the Superintendent referred to the Plummer gift as already committed when announcing the as-yet-anonymous Alfond gift on February 9.

The February 21 Bangor Daily News* article refers to both of these gifts.

Doesn't the truth seem a bit, well, malleable hereabouts?

Yesterday we all received the Community Connection, first expected in late January, then in late February.

The selective and timed release of information could be called...propaganda!

It's too bad when people you know get all, you know, political on you!
